Description
The fragmentation process in QCD remains an elusive mystery. Energy Correlators, which are correlation functions of energy flow, provide a novel new probe into the dynamics of the QCD phase transition and secondly provide a precision technique for the experimental measurement of fundamental parameters in QCD: i.e. the strong coupling constant. In this talk, we will describe extensions of these ideas to understand the dynamics of jets initiated by heavy quarks, objects whose properties can now be accessed at the precision level at the LHC. I will discuss how heavy quark dynamics itself on imprints this observable along with highlighting how energy correlators provide a unique check on for SCET factorization theorems in the back to back and collinear regions by comparisons to fixed order results for finite angles.
