Travel to & from the conference

We recommend arriving on Sunday and departing on the morning following your concluding day as the meeting days span from morning until early evening.

Flights

Convenient flights are available to Providence (PVD) which is very, very close to the conference, or Boston (BOS) which is 1-2 hours extra travel to the conference. Details below.

New York City airports can be used (EWR, JFK, LGA) but it takes 3-5 hours extra by train or car to get to Providence.

Providence T.F. Green International Airport (PVD)

Providence, RI is served by T.F. Green International Airport (PVD), located about 7 miles from the city center and Brown University.

PVD offers a very quick transfer to the city. The flight may involve an additional stop and can be more expensive.

Ground Transportation from the PVD airport to Providence city center:

  • Uber/Lyft: Approximately 15 minutes, costing around $15.
  • Public Transportation: Bus #66 takes about 20 minutes, with a fare of $2. The bus runs every 30 minutes. Ensure you have exact cash or download the WAVE mobile app for payment. (Android, Apple)
  • Hotel shuttles may be available.

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Boston Logan Airport provides more flexible flight options.

Travel to Providence typically takes 1 to 2.5 hours depending on your transport options and traffic conditions.

If you arrive in Boston, plan your travel according to your schedule, considering transfer times to Providence. If you take public transportation from Boston, aim to arrive no later than 8 PM to ensure a smooth transfer.
